Robb Cappelletto started Double Red as 'The Robb Cappelletto Group' in 2011 with their first release in 2012. Playing instrumental r&b/jazz, the group in its current lineup started to take shape in 2015, and put out two releases - Ostriches (2017) and Double Red (2019).
After a pandemic fuelled hiatus, Robb took two years off focused exclusively on working with his other band, re.verse (we released the album Meridian in 2022, and played a main stage headline slot for TD Toronto Jazz Fest in 2023).
Fast forward to 2024, Robb put the band back together and rebranded as Double Red.

Ego Death Trip is a Hamilton, Ontario based band that infuses groove-laden, hypnotic psychedelia with sounds from around the globe. The band is on a mission to create a new musical vocabulary that reflects the diasporic roots of the band while engaging deeply with musical forms like funk, folk, and psychedelia. The band was forming in the winter on 2023, and it consists of Anan Rahman on vocals, guitar, and other stringed instruments; David Byer on bass; Justin Bennett on drums; and Krutarth Shitut on tabla.
While the deep grooves and kaleidoscopic jams are supremely important to the band, the music is informed by explicitly anti-colonial worldview that is nourished by distinctly non-western sources ranging from South Asian classical and folk traditions, and Islamic mysticism.

Khruangbin - Maria También
Bab L' Bluz - El Gamra
Tony Allen - Secret Agent

Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nolan Gibson creates music that is grounded, yet embraces growth and curiosity. At 14 years old Nolan began sitting in with a number of Norfolk County blues and roots bands, most notably The Shoeshine Boys and Jesse Murphy Trio. Nolan has since branched out performing in a bluegrass duo with Eric Brousseau, a folk/soul/roots duo Amber Banks, and a number of other collaborations and projects.
Informed by these experiences, Nolan carries a respect for the music that has come before, but a desire explore what is yet to be. Not a single performance is the same as the last, and no song is safe from creative reinterpretation.
Today he joins @stereoruss in studio for a live on air performance on 93.3 CFMU.
